iMused — artist-protection compliance architecture for AI music
iMused.ai was in development and beta operation while the RIAA filed suit against Suno and Udio (June 2024) for exactly the artist-protection failures the iMused architecture was designed to prevent. The platform launched publicly on August 28, 2025 — after Suno had already settled with major labels — as the only AI music platform that built compliance in from the foundation: guaranteed auditable royalty splits, mandatory PRO registration, and public attribution ledger. The industry spent two years in litigation and settlement negotiating what iMused launched with.
iMused.ai, developed by 144K Collective and 9th Ward Production and Promotions Company — both PIN firm-built ventures — launched in beta approximately May 2025, with public launch August 28, 2025. The platform established a compliance architecture for AI music generation: guaranteed 10–20% auditable royalty splits to source artists, mandatory PRO registration on commercial releases, public attribution via verifiable ledger, and Musical DNA Technology™ analyzing an artist's creative fingerprint across 12+ dimensions. Built to be compliant by design — not as a response to litigation, but as the founding architecture.
The Recording Industry Association of America filed suit against Suno and Udio in June 2024 — while PIN's compliant platform was in development. Suno settled with major labels in July 2025; Udio settled shortly after. The broader industry — labels, platforms, and regulators — spent 2024–2026 attempting to construct retroactively the artist-protection frameworks that iMused built into its foundation. No comparable compliance-first AI music platform existed at public launch.
What can be verified.

Primary-source artifacts will be embedded here as scanned files, magazine PDFs, broadcast records, and bank verification letters arrive. Each will be reproduced in full, with the original metadata intact.
The pattern here is not that iMused preceded AI music generation — Suno and Udio were operating before iMused. The pattern is that iMused preceded the industry’s recognition that AI music generation required a compliance architecture to be sustainable. That recognition arrived via litigation. The architecture arrived with iMused.
The RIAA filed suit against Suno and Udio in June 2024, alleging that both platforms reproduced copyrighted sound recordings without authorisation. iMused was in development during that period. By the time Suno settled with major labels in July 2025, iMused had already completed beta and was days from its public launch. The settlement required Suno to build the licensing and attribution infrastructure it had not originally included. iMused launched with that infrastructure as its founding architecture — not as a remediation.
The compliance posture is specific. Every commercial release on iMused requires Performing Rights Organisation registration — legal name, IPI number, PRO affiliation — before generation. Source artists receive a guaranteed, auditable royalty split of 10% (user-generated DNA profiles) or 20% (Official DNA profiles) on all commercially exploited works. All generations are recorded in a public, verifiable attribution ledger. The platform is designed so that a work produced on iMused and then reproduced on any other platform or studio carries its compliance status with it.
The press release, dated August 28, 2025, states the claim directly: iMused.ai launches as the first ethical AI music platform. The claim is structural. No comparable compliance-first architecture existed at public launch — the industry’s closest equivalents were consent decrees and settlement terms, not founding design.
